Living with Allergies

I am allergic to many food items including all dairy products, eggs, wheat, rye, peanuts and tree nuts. Living with allergies is a challenge each and every day. Thankfully, I am lucky to have a very supportive family and friends who care a lot about me.

I want everyone to know that living with allergies is really not that bad. There are many things you can eat that I can eat, too. There are lots of great alternatives to allergy foods and they are often more healthy. I do not need to be concerned about my allergies in a safe environment. I read all ingredients on packages. My mom calls the manufacturers if we have concerns about the ingredients in their products. When I go to the candy store I look for candies that are safe and delicious. I actually went to Dylan’s Candy Store in New York City. They had an entire section of allergen-free candy. They were yummy. MMMMMMMMM!

To be safe, I carry two EpiPens (just in case one does not work) and an inhaler. I always wear my medical-alert bracelet. It tells everyone about my allergies.

I love to play tennis, golf, soccer, and share time with my friends. I am just like you in every way except when it comes to foods.
