Hi, my name is Alexa. I had been wanting an iPad for months leading up to my 12th birthday. While I was in the Apple store looking for new covers for my iPod Touch, I saw the new iPad display, saying…Coming Out Soon!
As soon as I got home from the store, I researched the functions, features, and costs. I realized I needed a plan to be able to afford it. The new iPad had everything my iTouch had, plus more. I loved the touch screen, bigger screen, internet, games, music, movies, magazines and email.
I figured, if I saved up all my birthday money, I’d have enough to pay for my own iPad. I needed to save $500. I contacted my grandparents, aunts, and uncles and asked them if they would give me money to put towards the purchase of a new iPad instead of a gift. Most of my family didn’t believe that I would be able to save enough for this expensive electronic device by the time of my birthday, but I knew I could. Not only that, they were shocked I actually wanted an iPad instead of the usual clothes or perfume, but I did…I wanted it badly!
The day came, it was September 9th, my birthday, and I had exceeded my $500 goal. I even had enough money for tax and a carrying case. After school, my dad picked me up and we headed to the mall. I walked into the Apple store excited out of my mind, and couldn’t believe that only two months ago this was a dream.
After playing with my iPad for the last month, I can definitely say, “It was worth every penny I invested!”
